The Screening Room E15 - Elliott Ashton Tribute Part 1 - Ben Macleod

In this weeks episode, I attempt to pay tribute to a friend, Elliott Ashton, who sadly passed away in September of 2018.  Elliott was a multi talented creative.  A visual artist, VFX artist, writer, director and producer.  I chat with actor and friend of Elliotts, Ben Macleod.  Ben talks of his time working on Elliotts wonderful animated short film, Attack of the Aliens which you can watch for free here:

The Screening Room E14 - The Room

To kick off our second series, I took my brother, Chirag Vaid to a special screening of The Room at the Prince Charles Cinema in London's Leicester Square.  In this special Valentines episode, we recorded live at the event (so please excuse the noise), sharing our expectations before hand, and our thoughts after the screening.  Did we think The Room was truly a disaster, or an absolute work of genius?  Hit play to find out!

The Screening Room E13 - Top 5 Films of 2018 - Rutvig Vaid

In this, the Season Finale of The Screening Room, host Rutvig Vaid goes through his top 5 films of 2018, based on his extremely limited viewing experience this year.  

The Screening Room will return in February of 2019 with Season 2, which will include interviews with British comics writer and artist, John Higgins (The Killing Joke, Watchmen, 2000AD), Hollywood graphic designer Jenn Moye (The Walking Dead, Fast & Furious 5, Spider-man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War) and commentary tracks on Robocop 2, Attack the Block and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, to name but a few.

The Screening Room E12 - Christmas Special - Arti Shah

In this bonus, Christmas special episode, Rutvig Vaid talks to actress Arti Shah (Star Wars, Attack the Block, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Guardians of the Galaxy) about some of her fave Christmas films.  And about time too, given that they are married!

So, you'd better not shout, you'd better not cry, you'd better not pout I'm telling ya why...'Artie Shaw' is comin' to town!

The Screening Room E11 - Guardians of the Galaxy - Norton James

Norton James joins us in The Screening Room this week as we watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1.  Norton was the body double for Chris Pratt / Star Lord.  Listen as Norton talks us through the film, providing behind the scenes info on how they shot this incredible entry to the MCU.

The Screening Room E9 - Imperfect - Tahira Nath

Mumbai based actress, writer, director extraordinaire Tahira Nath joins Rutvig in The Screening Room this week to watch and talk about her latest (co) writing project, Zoom Studios' brand new Indian sitcom, Imperfect.  The pair provide a commentary track on the 22 minute (primarily English) pilot episode, whilst catching up AND reading some comments from the viewers themselves. In this special episode of The Screening Room, Rutvig Vaid is joined by James Lundy (Edinburgh ComicCon, Hero Talk Rebirth Podcast, Wired) and Costas Karaiskos (AthensCon) as they remember the late, great, Stan Lee.

The Screening Room E7 - MCM Edition

This week, we hear from numerous guests that attended MCM ComicCon at the London Excel Centre on 26th October.  Ziki Nelson and his colleague Hamed talk about their indie comic, Kugali Anthology while host Rutvig Vaid notes Ziki's striking resemblance to Donald Glover.  This is followed by a conversation about Star Wars with Bostonian, Frank D. Rich of Star Wars Autograph News, where Rutvig and Frank share their thoughts on The Last Jedi and remember their personal experiences with the late Carrie Fisher.  And rounding up the episode are a series of Star Wars interviews, with guests signers Angus MacInnes (Gold Leader in A New Hope and Rogue One), Attila Vajda (Sagwa in Solo:  A Star Wars Story) and Ross Sambridge (Kessel Wookie slave in Solo and one of the Snoke body doubles in The Last Jedi). 

The Screening Room E6 - Scream - Hemrani Vyas

Turner Classic Movies Programmer, Hemrani Vyas joins Rutvig Vaid in our special Halloween edition of The Screening Room, in which they provide a commentary track for Wes Craven's 1996 slasher classic, Scream.

The Screening Room E5 - Zavian’s Bounce - Daniel Gray

In this special, out of the blue bonus episode of The Screening Room, host Rutvig Vaid, talks to the podcast theme choon writer and performer, Daniel Gray.  Though still a Degree student, Daniel is already quite the accomplished musician, with a bias in Jazz.

Rutvig and Daniel play and discuss the uncut version and the previously unreleased, alt, 'B side' version of Zavian's Bounce, and discuss not only the tracks, but also briefly talk about the origins of the art form itself.

The Screening Room E4 - Age of Ultron - Liam Dunne

In this week's episode, host Rutvig Vaid is joined by film editor guru, Liam Dunne, as they watch Avengers:  Age of Ultron.  

As well as Age of Ultron, on which Liam was a Production Runner, his many other credits include Spectre, Agent Carter, Jekyll & Hyde and London Has Fallen, on which he's worked in various roles, including as Vfx editor.

Recorded just prior to the release of 2018's Infinity War, listen to Liam anticipate events of that film, geek out over his love of comics and recall how he made a family's day during the Ultron shoot.

The Screening Room E1 - Solo - Jason Curle

In the premier episode of The Screening Room Podcast, host Rutvig Vaid talks to Solo:  A Story Wars Story stunt actor and double Jason Curle.  Curle was one of the stunt doubles for Alden Ehrenreich furing the Ron Howard portion of the filming.  Listen as he talks about his career as a martial artist and film.
